The Silver Anniversary of the Pottery Creation "Amnesia"

MAK Yee Fan – a pioneer master who has
far-reaching influence on pottery in Hong Kong.

Vincent AY – someone who became
a student of Master Mak some twenty years ago.
Pottery had linked these two unrelated persons
and brought them close together.
Then there was the day I gave up clay and pottery.

Skills began to slip away and techniques escape from memory.

The crack widened, as if you has never related to pottery.
Fate has it in 2007 that I got in touch with clay again
in helping to establish the St. James’ Creation Ceramics Gallery.

It rekindled your enthusiasm for clay.
In the twinkling of an eye, twenty years had gone…
Looking at my works now, they look familiar yet remote.

Deep inside there is the mixed feeling of amnesia and reminiscence.
